The Power C4 Sport Gives You – Why I Made The C4 Sport Pre Workout Review

I remember the first time I started drinking Cellucors C4 Sport Pre Workout. It just changed everything.

I had to make this C4 Sport Pre Workout review namely because it gives you incredible power. It makes me super focused at the gym, and really helps me grind through the days I just feel tired.

Sometimes you just can’t get after it in the gym because of things like:

  • Lack of sleep. Sometimes you just have a rough night and can’t get a full 8 hours.
  • Things outside the gym. Rough breakup? An argument with a friend? All of these can screw with your focus.
  • Just sore in general. Sometimes your muscles are just still sore from your last workout. This is probably the case if you’re on Arnold’s Blueprint to Mass.
  • Dedication/discipline problems. I’m not going to lie, going to the gym almost every day for 2 years can get boring at times. Because of that, sometimes you’re not always mentally there.

I wrote this C4 Sport Pre Workout review because it helps me so much!

No matter if I have some of the toughest moments going on in my life, it helps me get my mind straight and help me focus at the gym.

The truth is, we’re all in this bodybuilding together. It’s hard to bring 100% every single day, but you know what, C4 helps me do that. Especially on days where I’m not feeling so well.

The C4 lets me just rip through that workout and just put my ALL into it.

NSF Certified For Sport- C4 Sport Pre Workout Review

Since the pre-workout has “sport” in the name, we would expect it to hopefully be able to be used in sports, right?

The NSF Certified for Sport mark means it’s a safe product. Here are some of the guidelines:

  • It does not contain any of the 270+ banned substances/chemicals listed by organizations such as MLB, PWL, NFL, etc.
  • The product is tested 2x a year to make sure it doesn’t change production.
  • Everything on the label matches what is in the actual product.

The reason the NSF Certified for Sport version came out was because C4 was being banned by many sports leagues.

I even felt the hit a few years ago when my state’s wrestling league banned C4. That restriction was lifted if you are using the NSF Certified for Sport version.

So, “is c4 pre workout bad for you?”. Generally speaking, no. Many bad chemicals aren’t in it because of the NSF Certified for Sport mark.

C4 Sport Pre Workout Review – What’s In It That Gives it That Crazy Kick?

C4 has a ton of different ingredients all bring that crazy explosive energy.

So, let’s cover this, and discuss what’s actually in the box.

Caffeine

Most energy drinks or things like this will have a ton of caffeine in them. Caffeine is a natural stimulant found in things like coffee.

Caffeine makes your brain instantly more alert.

Each serving of C4 has 135mg of caffeine. This can be a TON of caffeine for some people and very little to others.

According to the MayoClinic, roughly 400mg of caffeine a day is safe for adults.

So I would be careful about taking multiple scoops (never more than 2!), but for the most part, it is relatively safe in most people’s diets.

Carnosyn Beta Alanine – My Favorite Part of The C4 Sport Pre Workout Review

Carnosyn Beta Alanine is my favorite part of C4.

As someone who has usually stayed away from supplements in the past, carnosyn beta alanine completely amazed me.

As someone with an interest in medicine, I just couldn’t believe something could be so crazy.

I felt all tingly sometimes, but I was hitting more reps at a higher weight. It was like whenever I reached muscle failure, I would feel the tingling and just keep pushing through the set.

According to Healthline, beta alanine basically gets stored in your skeletal system. During exercise, beta alanine is released and improves athletic performance.

This is because it helps reduce the acid in your muscles that makes you feel fatigued.

For me what usually happens is this:

I load up my overhead press, and I’m trying to hit a new PR. My memory reminds me how I failed the PR last time, but with the C4 and beta alanine, it’s going to change everything.

I start pushing the bar up, and my shoulders and triceps are tingling, it almost feels like a feather is tickling them, and I push through and hit the PR.

In a way, I feel like it takes away some of the pain and keeps pushing you to get that bar up. I love beta-alanine, it just revolutionizes my workout.

I hope you can tell how excited I am about this in my C4 sport pre workout review!

Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate/ Nitric Oxide

C4 has a very controversial ingredient called Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AAKG). Many say this leads to nitric oxide production in the body.

Truth is, this ingredient may be very useless, and for some people with pre-existing health conditions like Herpes or heart-conditions harmful.

In a study by the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, they found that AAKG did not increase nitric oxide levels.

They found that it slightly raised L-arginine levels, which may help with some muscle synthesis.

However, AAKG is usually used as a blood thinner. So, the risk of it does not outweigh the reward in my opinion.

If I was C4 staff, I would remove the ingredient. However, this is my only complaint in this C4 Sport Pre Workout Review.

Creatine Monohydrate

Creatine Monohydrate is probably my favorite supplement ever.

I can attest to anybody and everybody that it does have real effects.

Creatine is my go-to supplement, every time. It makes you look bigger and helps build muscle. And there’s literally like no side-effects.

The only way side-effects happen is if you don’t drink enough water. So it will teach you a lesson to stay hydrated!

Taurine

Taurine is an ingredient in C4 that has no side effects in a normal dose. Your body uses it every day for things like maintaining hydration and exercising.

I love talking about the little things in this c4 sport pre workout review. This is because sometimes the pre workout isn’t all about the caffeine number.

These small vitamins and minerals add up overtime! Boosting your performance with it.

Other Small Vitamin Doses

Many people that have written a C4 Sport Pre Workout Review have easily neglected the smaller parts of the pre workout.

Magnesium, Vitamin B12, Sodium, and Potassium are all present in the tasty drink! And even though these are smaller things, they are so so so important.

Ever had bad muscle cramps? Felt extremely sore? It’s likely due to a lack of magnesium.

Furthermore, many of these vitamins can help in everyday life functions. And if you’re working out, chances are many of these vitamins are being sweated out.

So it’s a good idea C4 tosses them in, it helps keep you replenished after your workout to keep your mental focus up, and keep those cramps away.

What’s in the C4 Sport Pre Workout Tub?

Interestingly enough, C4 has a pretty casual design. There’s not anything crazy to it, but it doesn’t look bad.

You unscrew a yellow lid on top, and inside lies the powder that’s going to change your life.

It comes with a scoop that is approximately 9g.

On the side, it says: serving 1 scoop. And there are roughly 30 servings in each C4 Sport Pre Workout Tub.

Let me say, I would never have written this C4 Sport Pre Workout Review if this stuff was bad.

While I think it is slightly expensive ($.50-$.70) a scoop you have to realize what it is.

This is your health. You aren’t blowing your money on vices like weed/alcohol, you’re spending it to better yourself. It’s worth it.

How Do I Take C4?

To ingest C4 Sport Pre Workout is easy. Simply pour the scoop into a cup/bottle, and then fill it up with water.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “Do I need like a shaker bottle or spoon to stir this?”. Honestly, no.

You will probably have to shake around the bottle a little bit, but C4 rarely ever clots.

Some protein shakes I’ve had usually get stuck at the bottom or other disgusting things.

C4 is pretty soluble and easily mixes in with the water.

When Do I Take C4?

Generally, you’re supposed to take C4 30 minutes before your workout.

That’s why they call it “pre workout”, but I do something different.

Generally, I take half of a scoop 20-30 minute before going to the gym. Then, I pour the other half of the scoop in once I get to the gym.

I take bodybuilding and weight lifting incredibly seriously.

But sometimes I would get tired during the gym after doing incredibly heavy sets over and over.

So, I just drink a mix of C4 at the gym and it helps me stay energized throughout my workout.

Plus it tastes awesome and keeps encouraging me to drink more water.

Best C4 Sport Pre Workout Flavors

My favorite part of the C4 Sport Pre Workout Review. It’s time to talk about my favorite flavors.

I’m not going to lie to all of my fans, I LOVE eating. And drinking (not alcohol but) things that are sweet.

It’s my weakness, especially considering cutting season is hard for me due to me being an endomorph bodybuilder.

So let’s talk about the best flavors.

#1 Best Flavor – Fruit Punch

Fruit punch is HANDS DOWN the BEST C4 Sport Pre Workout Flavor. I mean, who doesn’t like fruit punch?

It actually tastes so good it’s unbelievable. It tastes like Kool-Aid Fruit Punch.

In a way, I think I’ve developed an addiction to how good C4’s fruit punch flavor tastes.

This isn’t any knock off fruit punch. And that fruit punch during your workout just hits different, seriously.

After squatting 285 for 5 reps, drinking a big gulp of fruit punch just brings happiness again.

#2 Best Flavor – Blue Raspberry

Blue raspberry is such a good flavor in anything.

Everybody loves blue raspberry ICEEs, blue raspberry candy, etc.

Read any C4 Pre Workout Review out there and they all agree, the blue raspberry is awesome.

It doesn’t have any artificial taste, it just tastes awesome. And again, these good tastes help a ton when you’re deep into a 2-hour workout.

#3 Best Flavor – Watermelon

Watermelon, in general, is a good flavor. But I had to rank this the last out of the rest.

I had a whole tub of watermelon C4, and it was hard to get down after having so much.

I recommend having two different flavors to switch through. That way you don’t have to down a flavor that you hate and ruin your workout.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are tons of questions about pre workout that are surprisingly just unanswered.

The truth is, taking pre workout for the first time can be kind of scary. You’re downing a whole bunch of chemicals that are supposed to make you act crazy.

Luckily, I got answers to basically all of the questions asked.

If you have any other questions, please leave a comment below and I will respond quickly. (Within 12 hours, if not within 10 minutes).

I will then add those questions to the C4 Sport Pre Workout Review to help others out too, and give you credit!

Is Pre Workout Bad For You?

Generally, pre workout has a bad rap. However, I wouldn’t say pre workout is bad for you.

I think most things in life need to be taken in moderation.

For example, people shouldn’t take three scoops of C4 a day for 10 years straight.

And most people shouldn’t have 4-5 cups of coffee a day either.

I think taking C4 purely for working out in moderation and using it sparingly will let you be just fine.

Personally, I use the 2-month rule. Use pre workout for 2 months then don’t take it for 1 month.

This way you can avoid a bad addiction and see if your body changes for the better.

If you suddenly feel 1000x better than you ever have in your life, there may be something in the pre workout you’re taking that your body can’t handle.

Sure, there are some chemicals that can be bad.

But seriously, take it in moderation. And I doubt anybody will be taking C4 daily for the rest of their lives, so usually, it won’t be a problem.

And taking extreme amounts of C4 is surely going to be better than some people’s drinking habits.

How To Get Rid of Pre Workout Side Effects

I would have never written the C4 Sport Pre Workout Review if it had really bad side effects.

While most people will never experience side effects while taking a pre-workout, everybody is different.

I always recommend reviewing if you have any health conditions before taking any pre workout.

But if you start to get bad side effects, immediately stop taking more pre workout. Time is going to be your best friend.

If your heart starts skipping beats or beating incredibly incredibly fast, go to the emergency room.

But if you’re just jittery/energetic, just wait it out. If you feel tingly, just wait it out. It will likely all be gone in a few hours, and if not a few days latest.

You can also try to stay hydrated, as it will help remove any side effects like headaches/dizziness. Also, it will dilute the pre workout in your body.

What About The C4 Pre Workout Death?

Nobody has ever died from taking C4 pre workout.

In fact, I don’t think I could have written the C4 Sport Pre Workout Review if someone had died from it. The product wouldn’t be sold anymore.

Ever had coffee in the morning? That’s just pre workout, but for going to work or going for a run.

Back in the day, bodybuilders would bring coffee to the gym too. In fact, before I switched to pre workout I used to drink coffee every day before the gym.

That’s why on my “Best Lifting Gear” page, I share my love for coffee.

There have been a few pre workout-related deaths back in the day, but that was due to dangerous chemicals like Ephedra and DMAA.

Both of those ingredients are banned from supplements today. And in recent times, there hasn’t been a death linked to it.

Recently in 2017, a healthy teen suffered a stroke after taking a pre workout named Animal Rage XL.

While I trust medical journals above all, unfortunately, the journal is very vague and doesn’t really give many details into what caused it.

It’s very possible the stroke could’ve been random chance, or him taking 3-4 scoops. We don’t know, and they don’t specify.

But as far as C4 Pre workout is concerned, it has no bad track record.

And don’t be the first, take the serving size as instructed.

Pre Workout Withdrawal

In my experience, I have never had pre workout withdrawal.

I’ve had caffeine withdrawal from my other bad habits (drinking diet coke daily), but never pre workout.

I think this is namely because pre workout isn’t supposed to be taken multiple times a day.

If you are suffering from pre workout withdrawal, it’s probably due to caffeine.

Simply enjoy a small cup of black coffee or have a soda. These both have relatively small amounts of caffeine compared to pre workout.

This will help cure the pre workout withdrawal symptoms and help you kick the addiction. But usually, it’s never a problem.

And like I said earlier, always feel free to comment and ask questions. I will try to give you my advice and add it to the C4 Sport Pre Workout Review to help others!

C4 Pre Workout Price

Compared to other pre workout brands, the C4 pre workout price is relatively low.

You can usually get it for $20, but if you subscribe on Amazon you can get it as low as $17/month.

This means if there are 30 servings per container, it’s roughly $.56 a scoop.

This isn’t bad, but realize you are spending this to get energy in the gym and better yourself. This isn’t being spent on bad things.

C4 Pre Workout Sport vs Original

This is the pure reason I wrote the C4 Pre Workout Sport Review. It’s purely safer than C4 original.

C4 Original Pre Workout has more dangerous chemicals in it and is way stronger.

So C4 Pre Workout Sport vs Original? The truth is, you’re safer off taking the sport version.

Not only is it safer, but in my mind a better option for athletes since it is NSF Certified for Sport.

C4 Original contains Teacrine and Creatine Nitrate.

Meanwhile, C4 Pre Workout Sport contains much safer and more researched Creatine Monohydrate.

Pre Workout Side Effects Depression

Some have said a big side effect of pre workout is depression.

The caffeine in pre workout can aggravate anxiety for some people, and also work vice versa.

Personally, for me, the pre workout helps keep my depression and anxiety down and lets me focus on the gym.

It really depends on each person. If you get extremely depressed after taking C4 Sport Pre Workout, don’t take it again.

Your life is worth more than a pre workout. You are important, I will say that to you now.

For some people (myself included) the gym can be a very important stress reliever. And it’s helped me through some of the toughest moments in my life.

Skip the pre workout if it gives you bad thoughts.

C4 Sport Pre Workout Side Effects

So, looking up online some pre workout side effects is going to give you a really scary answer.

And trust me, I put your health before anything. I’m not getting paid by Cellucor to write this C4 Sport Pre Workout Review, it’s because I genuinely like the product.

There are some side effects, but everybody experiences C4 differently. Truth be told, most people if you’re somewhat healthy will never experience any side effects.

Conclusion

The theme of the C4 Sport Pre Workout Review is to just get out there and try it.

Chances are, you will have the energy you’ve never had before at the gym, and push through some personal records.

After that, more muscle will come. A better mindset will develop, and you’ll be as addicted to the gym as I am.
